Piper first ever note that made me sit up and say wow. She handed it to me on a balmy summer day and said it was for Jim or was it Tony hmmm but it was for her imaginary boyfriend at the time.
I realised then that just because Piper was autistic and learning disabled didn't mean that didn't still have teen crushes and want love and romance like everyone else her age. She was about to turn 17. It was also this note that made me realise that she was now reading and writing independently something I was sure she was never going to do. Super grateful to all those SEN teachers that never gave up on her.
